Below is the .xls file used to create my waypoints for the C.T.; use right-click, save-as.

Florida CT 3g 032711.xls ...DEAD LINK...

Close examination will show how I used msXcel to string the various milepost data and comments together to form the waypoint names and descriptions.

There are several ways to use this data, including creating custom POI's. Most tools used to handle gps/waypoint data can accept .gpx files and on-line tools at http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ can convert most anything into anything else.

Before making a POI files from this data, you may want to remove/replace the html syntax "<br><br>" with a 'comma and one space'. For older gps'r the allowable number of characters for POI's is much greater than that of waypoints but still not enough for longer descriptions. For newer Garmins, editing/shortening the information in the DESCRIPTION field is probably not required but reading a page full of html code can be a pain.
